  87.              Hello again!
  88.         
  89.              In a major break from the past, this issue and the
  90.         prior two issues of ShareDebate International are devoted
  91.         to the two best board games I've been introduced to:
  92.         Chinese and Korean Chess.  Two issues ago, the Winter
  93.         1994/1995 issue, introduced two versions of Chinese Chess
  94.         with illustrated documentation. The prior issue
  95.         introduces Korean Chess, which can use the same board
  96.         and pieces as Chinese Chess (a "real" Korean Chess
  97.         board does look a tiny but insignificant bit different;
  98.         see the documentation for the differences--nevertheless
  99.         the game can be played with either country's set
  100.         without confusing anyone who knows the game).
  101.         
  102.             The prior two issues focused on software versions
  103.         of the game.  This issue provides you with a software
  104.         set of tools/images to enable you to make your own
  105.         Asian-Style or Western-Style Chinese/Korean Chess game.
  106.         In fact, you can make as many of the game sets (boards
  107.         and pieces as you want).  Create your own chess club!
  108.         All you need is a computer printer, Scotch Tape, some
  109.         Avery Mailing Labels (the pieces are printed on them),
  110.         and a box of red/white/blue poker chips (a box costs
  111.         $1.00 at a dollar store--a couple of dollars at your
  112.         higher priced department stores)--which are enough to
  113.         make two complete game sets.  You'll stick the printed
  114.         images (on the mailing labels) onto the poker chips.
  115.         You'll print the board on four sheets of paper and cut
  116.         and tape them together to make one "board."  You can
  117.         make the board permanent with clear plastic glass.
  118.         
  119.             Korean and Chinese Chess are the best games there
  120.         are!  I got bored 20 years ago with Western Chess --
  121.         Korean and Chinese Chess with their Cannons & rules
  122.         limiting the King to a 3x3 grid (the fortress) on a
  123.         larger board (90 locations) make them quicker, more
  124.         unpredictable, more challenging, and more fun.
  125.         
  126.              In case some of the readers are anti-game though,
  127.         I'm including several "traditional" ShareDebate
  128.         International normal type entries which are great reading
  129.         in and of themselves -- they are selected reprints from
  130.         The CEI (Competitive Enterprise Institute) and from
  131.         Libernet.
  132.         
  133.              I am also including my Netscape Bookmark File to let
  134.         others see what's out there on the World Wide Web that
  135.         interests someone with my varied interests.  Use any
  136.         Web browser program, such as Netscape or Mosaic to read
  137.         these files (listed below).

  139.              Last, I've been working to get ShareDebate
  140.         International it's own Web home page (and associated HTML
  141.         pages).  The HTML coding is all done--I am scouting
  142.         around for the best price and hope to have secured a Web
  143.         place by year end 1995.  In the meantime, I am including
  144.         the actual Web pages I intend to use that will point to
  145.         the ZIPped, complete back issues -- these Web pages also
  146.         include issue by issue abstracts of both ShareDebate
  147.         International and Imprimis Online.  Check them out by
  148.         using your browser to open the file, SI_HOME.HTM -- it
  149.         all starts from there!  I've also made it possible for you
  150.         to use Netscape or any Web browser to read any of the text
  151.         files in this and future issues of ShareDebate International
  152.         or Imprimis Online.  You'll see this as the first and last
  153.         line of each file therefore if you use a plain file reader:

  167.             Because this issue is quite long, the individual
  168.         entries are not all collapsed into this file.  That way
  169.         readers on non-MSDOS computers who don't have an ASCII
  170.         file reader that can read in massively large files can
  171.         read this issue -- all files are tried to be kept under
  172.         50KB apiece.  Also all readers can quickly "jump" to
  173.         the pieces that most interest them.  This makes
  174.         printing out what interests a person most convenient
  175.         and avoids wasting paper and time.  I hope you like
  176.         this arrangement.

  179.         "TXT" type files might be of interest to you.  The other
  180.         three types of files are "S/W" (Software), "GPH" (Graphic
